Tanzania: President Samia Unveils New Cabinet, Appoints Her Daughter to Key Role
President Samia Suluhu Hassan has announced a new cabinet as part of efforts to strengthen government operations and accelerate national development programs.
Among the notable changes is the appointment of her daughter, Wanu Hafidh, as Deputy Minister of Education.
Wanu, who has worked on youth and education-related initiatives, is expected to support the government’s push to improve the quality of education and expand opportunities for young people across the country.
In the same reshuffle, President Samia also appointed Mohamed Mchegerwa, her son-in-law, as Minister of Health. He previously served in the President’s Office before being moved to the health portfolio, which is central to ongoing reforms aimed at improving service delivery and public health systems.
The newly announced cabinet brings in several new faces across different ministries, reflecting the administration’s intention to boost performance, improve accountability, and speed up the execution of priority national programs.
As the new team begins work, many are watching closely to see how these appointments will shape government effectiveness and contribute to Tanzania’s development agenda in the months ahead.
