Rwanda’s coffee has earned a place among the top five out of 48 global entries at the World of Coffee San Diego held in California, United States from April 10–12, 2026.

The achievement was announced by the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB), which highlighted it as a reflection of the country’s continued efforts to improve quality, innovation, and competitiveness in the global coffee market.

Participation in the international exhibition also aimed to expand market access and further position Rwanda’s coffee among the world’s premium products.

Coffee remains one of Rwanda’s top export crops, with strong growth recorded in recent years. According to NAEB, export volumes increased by 39% in 2025 compared to 2024, while revenues rose by 65% over the same period.

In 2025 alone, Rwanda exported 23,860 tonnes of coffee, generating more than Rwf 216 billion up significantly from 17,142 tonnes and over Rwf 129 billion recorded in 2024.

These figures underscore the sector’s growing contribution to the country’s economy and its rising reputation on the international stage.
