Rwanda and South Korea reaffirm partnership during Africa-Korea ministerial meeting in Seoul

Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Olivier Jean Patrick Nduhungirehe, met with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung during meetings held in Seoul on the sidelines of the 2026 Korea-Africa Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.


President Lee Jae-myung received ministers and senior representatives from several African countries for discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between South Korea and African nations, while advancing shared development priorities.

During the engagements, Rwanda reaffirmed the importance it attaches to its longstanding partnership with the Republic of Korea, which remains one of Rwanda’s key development partners.

Over the years, cooperation between the two countries has expanded across several sectors, including information and communication technology (ICT), trade and investment, education, and capacity building.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for both sides to reiterate their commitment to deepening collaboration in areas aimed at promoting economic growth, innovation, and improved livelihoods for citizens.

The 2026 Korea-Africa Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Seoul brought together leaders and officials to explore new opportunities for cooperation and strengthen ties between South Korea and African countries.
