The Mufti of Rwanda, Sheikh Sindayigaya Musa, has officially received the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs of the State of Qatar, H.E. Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanim, who arrived in Rwanda for a three-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations in Islamic affairs and development cooperation.

During his three-day stay, Minister Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanim is scheduled to meet with senior officials of the Rwanda Muslim Community (RMC).

It is expected that during this visit, Minister Al Ghanim will tour various key sites, including the location where the Rwanda Muslim Community plans to build its new headquarters (Waqf project). He will also visit the Al-Hidaya Islamic Institute, a major Islamic education center in Rwanda supported and managed by the Rwanda Muslim Community.

Additionally, the Minister will visit the Kigali neighborhood of Nyamirambo, known for having a large Muslim population. He is expected to join the Muslim community for the midday Adhuhur prayer at Al-Fath Mosque. The visit will conclude with a meeting between the Minister and the RMC leadership, during which the Muslim community leaders will present major development projects planned for the near future.

This visit is viewed as an important step toward opening new avenues of cooperation between the RMC and the State of Qatar, with both sides expected to discuss partnership and long-term development initiatives.

Qatar already maintains strong and friendly relations with the Government of Rwanda, highlighted by the recent visit of the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to Rwanda.
For this reason, the Muslim community in Rwanda is optimistic that the visit of H.E. Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanim will open new doors of collaboration between Rwanda’s Muslims and the State of Qatar.
Qatar, being a prominent Islamic nation, is widely known for supporting development projects inspired by Islamic values, and many believe this visit will further strengthen that commitment.
