President Kagame Receives Message from Gabonese Head of State
On Thursday afternoon, October 20, 2025, President Paul Kagame received François Ndong Obiang, Gabon’s Minister in charge of Institutional Reforms and Intergovernmental Relations, at Urugwiro Village.
The Minister delivered a special message from President Brice Oligui Nguema of Gabon to his Rwandan counterpart.
The visit reflects the continued strengthening of bilateral ties between Rwanda and Gabon two nations committed to expanding economic cooperation and unlocking opportunities in trade and investment.
Relations between the two countries have grown steadily over recent years. In October 2024, President Kagame hosted Gabon’s transitional leader and Chair of the Committee for Institutional Reform, Gen. Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema. Their discussions centered on areas of mutual interest, especially partnerships aimed at accelerating development in both nations.
Gabon has expressed strong interest in drawing lessons from Rwanda’s governance and development model, particularly in improving economic performance and deepening political cooperation. The two countries recognize significant potential for collaboration across various sectors.
