Gen Mubarakh Muganga Urges RDF Soldiers to Strengthen training and professionalism, inaugurates new sports facilities
The Commander of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), Gen Mubarakh Muganga, has called on soldiers to remain committed to continuous training and skills development in order to strengthen professionalism within the army.
He made the remarks during the closing ceremony of a training program for members of the Military Police Brigade, held at the Kanombe Military Camp on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. Gen Muganga emphasized that discipline, continuous learning, and dedication are key pillars that help maintain the effectiveness and integrity of the Rwanda Defence Force.
He further reminded the Military Police to always uphold high standards of conduct, stressing that they should act as role models both within the army and in the wider community. According to him, their behavior should reflect the core values and ethics of the RDF, especially in maintaining order and discipline.
During the same event, Gen Muganga officially inaugurated newly constructed sports and training facilities within the camp. These include basketball, volleyball, and netball courts, as well as a modern gymnasium equipped to support physical fitness training.
He noted that such facilities play an important role in improving the physical strength, endurance, and overall readiness of soldiers. He added that maintaining good physical fitness is essential for operational effectiveness and contributes to enhancing professionalism in military service.
The event highlighted the RDF’s continued efforts to invest in both the professional development and well-being of its personnel through training, discipline, and improved infrastructure.
