Rwanda Sends Additional 40 Tons of Food and Medicine to Gaza
The Government of Rwanda, in partnership with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, has delivered more than 40 tons of food and medical supplies to support civilians in Gaza, two years after the region was devastated by war.
As it did in previous operation Rwanda sent the latest aid this week to Amman, the capital of Jordan, where it was handed over to the Jordan Hashemites it did in previous operations, Rwanda Charity Organization, a humanitarian group known for providing relief to vulnerable communities.
This latest consignment follows a similar donation in May this year, which consisted of more than 20 tons of food and medical supplies. According to the Rwandan government, this effort is part of its commitment to supporting international initiatives aimed at helping civilians affected by conflict.
Rwanda first extended this support in October 2023, when it donated 16 tons of food, drinks, and medicine. In November 2024, the country sent a second shipment of 19 tons, which included food for children, medicine, and medical equipment.
Since the conflict between Israel and Hamas began in 2023, it has claimed over 55,000 lives, leaving many displaced and in urgent need of basic necessities and healthcare.
Rwanda says its continued donations reflect its solidarity and contribution to international peace, unity, and humanitarian efforts.
Rwanda’s aid aims to support the people of Gaza as they continue to face the dire consequences of war.
