Speaking during a swearing-in ceremony of new government officials on July 25, 2025, President Kagame praised Dr. Ngirente’s commitment and the excellent cooperation they shared during his time in office.

“I want to sincerely thank the outgoing Prime Minister. I appreciate the great work he did over the years. We worked very well together so well that I would jokingly refer to him just by his title and say, ‘Mr. Prime Minister, do this,’ and he would immediately act. Thank you very much,” President Kagame said.

Dr. Ngirente served as Prime Minister from August 2017 until July 2025, leading key government programs focused on economic transformation, good governance, and human development.
