Following a statement from the Kenya Airports Authority regarding ongoing operational disruptions at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, RwandAir has announced delays and cancellations affecting several flights to and from Nairobi.

The disruptions are linked to a labour dispute involving airport staff, who have been protesting over salary and other work-related issues, affecting the smooth operation of the airport and several airlines, including Kenya Airways.

Passengers traveling between Kigali and Nairobi experienced schedule changes after RwandAir announced delays and cancellations linked to operational challenges at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The airline said flight WB453, normally lasting about 90 minutes, was pushed back to 8:50 p.m. local time in Nairobi, while flight WB402 scheduled for Monday, February 16, 2026, was cancelled altogether.

According to the carrier, the disruption stems from ongoing labor unrest involving airport workers who are protesting salary concerns and other employment-related issues. The situation has affected several airlines operating through Nairobi, including Kenya Airways, which has also adjusted flights.

RwandAir confirmed that travelers booked on flight WB403 were accommodated on the rescheduled WB453 service. The airline emphasized that its teams are closely monitoring developments and working with relevant authorities to minimize inconvenience while assisting affected passengers.

In a statement, the company encouraged customers needing support to contact its sales offices for rebooking or further guidance, as efforts continue to stabilize operations while the dispute remains under judicial review until February 26.
