Rwanda and Brazil Deepen Diplomatic Relations and Political Cooperation
The governments of Rwanda and Brazil have committed to strengthening their diplomatic relations and political cooperation by signing an agreement aimed at enhancing dialogue and collaboration on key political matters.
The accord was signed in Kigali by Rwanda’s Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Clementine Mukeka, and Brazil’s Ambassador to Rwanda, Irene Vida Gala.
The signing took place during a political dialogue session led by Mukeka and Ambassador Carlos Duarte, Brazil’s Secretary for Africa and the Middle East.
In her remarks, Mukeka described the agreement as a significant milestone in the relationship between the two countries, paving the way for continuous political consultations. Discussions focused on evaluating existing cooperation and exploring new avenues for collaboration.
Rwanda and Brazil have maintained diplomatic relations since 1981, a relationship further strengthened with the establishment of embassies in Kigali and Brasília.
This foundation has allowed for regular political dialogues and cooperation across various sectors, including education, science and technology, trade and investment, infrastructure, and healthcare.
