RDB Issues Guidelines for Services Ahead of 2025 UCI Road World Championships
The Rwanda Development Board (RDB) has released a set of guidelines to be observed by operators in the tourism and hospitality sector as the country prepares to host the UCI Road World Championships 2025, scheduled to take place from September 21–28 in Kigali and other parts of Rwanda
The guidelines apply to hotels, guesthouses, tour operators, transport service providers, and all businesses involved in hosting and supporting visitors during the global cycling event.
The temporary business measures will be in effect from 19 to 28 September 2025, slightly ahead of the main event, to support traffic management and operational preparations. Hotels, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and other hospitality businesses are allowed to extend their operating hours and remain open until 4:00 a.m. during this period, accommodating athletes, spectators, and other visitors.

All existing rules on noise pollution remain in effect, and alcohol regulations continue to apply: no alcohol should be served to persons under 18, and businesses must not serve intoxicated individuals. Consumers are reminded to drink responsibly and avoid driving under the influence.
RDB will collaborate with other government institutions to ensure compliance, and any violations will be addressed. These measures are intended to support the smooth hosting of the championship, manage irregular traffic flow, and ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors.
RDB emphasized that the championship will attract thousands of visitors from across the world, presenting a unique opportunity for Rwanda’s tourism sector. The institution urged all players in the industry to demonstrate professionalism and readiness to contribute to the success of the event.
