According to flight data, KQ203 departed Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) at 6:23 a.m. (IST) and is expected to touch down at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at 9:30 a.m. (EAT).
The flight, which has already become one of the most tracked in the world, marks the final leg of the repatriation mission led by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, accompanied by over 30 senior government officials, governors, and members of the Odinga family.
“KQ203 bringing Baba home,” Kenya Airways posted early Thursday, sharing live flight data that showed over 2,600 users following the plane midair between the Arabian Sea and the Horn of Africa.
Upon arrival, Raila Odinga’s body will be received with full state honours before being taken to Lee Funeral Home. A solemn procession will later proceed to State House and then to Parliament Buildings, where Kenyans will be allowed to pay their respects.
A national prayer service is scheduled for Friday, October 17, 2025, at Nyayo Stadium, followed by memorial events in Kisumu and Bondo, where the veteran leader will be laid to rest on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
President William Ruto earlier appointed a National Funeral Committee, co-chaired by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga, to coordinate all state funeral arrangements.
