Qatar Prime Minister rejects Iranian claims over missile attacks
HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar has rejected Iranian claims that recent missile attacks were not aimed at Qatar, stressing that evidence on the ground indicates otherwise.
The remarks were made during a phone call with Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi.
According to a statement released in Doha on Wednesday, March 04, 2026, Sheikh Mohammed firmly dismissed assertions from Iran that the missiles launched in the region did not target Qatari territory. He emphasized that assessments and findings from the scene contradict Tehran’s position.
The Qatari Prime Minister underscored the importance of transparency and accountability, reiterating Doha’s commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and security. He also called for restraint and dialogue to prevent further escalation in the region.
The phone conversation comes amid heightened regional tensions following a series of missile and drone incidents that have drawn widespread international concern.
Qatar has consistently condemned attacks on sovereign territories and has urged all parties to prioritize diplomatic solutions to maintain regional stability.
