Kyiv was rocked early Friday by a massive wave of Russian missiles and drones, unleashing explosions, fires, and chaos across the Ukrainian capital.

The overnight attack targeted residential areas, leaving a trail of destruction that shook the city and terrorized its residents.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that three people were killed, while 26 others were injured. Four of the wounded remain hospitalized, including a pregnant woman and another victim reported to be in critical condition.

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said roughly 30 residential buildings were damaged. He called on international partners to urgently act on measures discussed at the recent G7 meeting in Canada, emphasizing that the assault underscores the immediate need for enhanced defence support and decisive steps on Russia’s frozen assets.

The eastern Dniprovskyi district bore some of the heaviest damage. Three high-rise apartment blocks were hit, with nine residents rescued from one building engulfed in flames. Firefighters and emergency crews worked through the night to contain blazes, clear rubble, and support those trapped or displaced.

Images circulating from Kyiv showed towering flames lighting up the skyline, smoke billowing across streets, and residents huddling outside damaged buildings, surveying shattered windows and crumbled walls. The attack has left an indelible mark on the city, as authorities rush to assess the full scale of destruction and tend to the injured.
