Trump said leaders from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates appealed to the United States to delay the attack because negotiations with Tehran were beginning to show signs of progress.

Although the strike was suspended, Trump stressed that American forces remain on high alert and ready to act if talks collapse. He warned that the United States would not tolerate any move by Iran to continue advancing its nuclear weapons programme.

Diplomatic sources also revealed that Iran recently presented new proposals to American officials through mediators in an effort to reduce tensions and revive discussions aimed at improving regional security in the Middle East.

The decision to postpone the military action also affected global oil markets, with prices falling after investors viewed the move as a sign that diplomacy could still prevent a wider conflict in the region.
