Trinity Metals, a leading and responsible producer of tin, tungsten, and tantalum in Rwanda, has reached a historic milestone by delivering the country’s first-ever Tungsten concentrate shipments to the United States.

The achievement marks a major step in strengthening Rwanda’s position in the global minerals market and expanding high-level international linkages in the sector.

Speaking during an interview on Al Jazeera, President Paul Kagame praised Trinity Metals for its long-term commitment to Rwanda’s mining industry. He noted:

“We have had a company that is, yes, best, Trinity Metals that actually made the findings and has invested over a long time, has been mining, and is always improving on how much they can process within the country.”

For years, Trinity Metals has invested heavily in modernizing its operations, improving local processing capacity, and promoting responsible mining practices that align with both national priorities and global standards. The company’s efforts have positioned Rwanda among credible suppliers of ethically sourced 3Ts (tin, tungsten, tantalum), while increasing the value addition done within the country.

The landmark shipment to the USA not only demonstrates Trinity Metals’ growing operational capacity but also reflects Rwanda’s broader ambition to become a model of transparency, sustainability, and efficiency in mineral production.

Industry experts say the move could unlock more strategic partnerships with the global market, further strengthening Rwanda’s mineral value chain.

As the company continues to innovate and expand, Trinity Metals remains a key contributor to national development and a showcase of how responsible mining can drive economic transformation.
