Rwandan Security Forces Join Community Sports Activities in Northern Mozambique

Members of the Rwanda Security Forces (RSF) deployed in Cabo Delgado Province, northern Mozambique, on Sunday, December 21, took part in a community sports exercise alongside local residents and grassroots leaders.


The weekly public sports activity was organized by the leadership of Mocímboa da Praia City as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between state institutions and the population, while also celebrating the improved security situation in the area. The event further highlighted the role of physical exercise in promoting healthy living.

Following the sports session, local authorities addressed participants, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in fostering trust, unity and positive relations between security organs and civilians.

Speaking on behalf of the Rwanda Security Forces, ACP Bertin Mutezintare reaffirmed RSF’s commitment to working closely with the local population to maintain security. He underscored the value of community engagement and expressed readiness to support the expansion of similar public sports activities across the wider province.

The Mayor of Mocímboa da Praia, Helena Bandeila, commended both the Rwandan and Mozambican security forces for their continued contribution to peace and stability in Cabo Delgado.

She also encouraged local leaders to mobilize residents to consistently participate in the weekly community sports program, noting that regular physical exercise is vital for maintaining good health.
