Rwanda Awarded by the World Bank After Leading in Human Capital Index+ Rankings
Rwanda has received an award from the World Bank after ranking among the top-performing countries in the newly introduced Human Capital Index+ (HCI+), a global measure that evaluates how effectively nations invest in their people.
The Human Capital Index+ is an enhanced tool that assesses key areas such as health, education, and employment. It analyzes how countries transform investments in these sectors into improved living standards and long-term economic productivity, emphasizing the role of human development in achieving sustainable growth.
Rwanda’s recognition reflects its continued progress in improving healthcare services, expanding access to quality education, and strengthening workforce skills. In recent years, the country has implemented various policies and reforms aimed at building strong human capital, including increasing school enrollment, improving learning outcomes, and promoting job creation.
The award was presented in Washington, D.C., where a Rwandan delegation attended official meetings organized by the World Bank. During the event, Rwanda was highlighted as a model for other developing countries seeking to maximize the impact of their investments in people.
This achievement reinforces Rwanda’s reputation as a country committed to inclusive development and long-term prosperity, with a strong focus on empowering its population as the foundation of national progress.
