Rwanda’s Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources, Dr. Telesphore Ndabamenye, attended the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Ministerial Meeting held on May 4–5 in Kampala, Uganda.

The meeting, organized by the International Solar Alliance, brought together leaders to discuss the use of solar energy, with a focus on solarizing the agricultural value chain to enhance productivity and strengthen food security.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Dr. Ndabamenye emphasized the need for stronger policy reforms and accelerated solar innovation to expand access to affordable technologies that make life easier for farmers, while boosting productivity and food security.

He also called for scaling up investments that de-risk project financing and unlock greater private sector participation, noting that this is key to accelerating the solarization of agriculture.
