Minister Nduhungirehe Holds Talks with Omani Counterpart on Transport, Logistics and ICT Cooperation
During an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman, Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Olivier Nduhungirehe, held high-level talks with Oman’s Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, H.E. Eng. Saeed bin Hamoud Al-Maawali, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation in key development sectors.
The meeting brought together Minister Nduhungirehe and senior Rwandan government officials, who engaged their Omani counterparts in discussions aimed at expanding collaboration in transport, logistics, and information and communication technology (ICT).
Both sides exchanged views on opportunities to enhance cooperation in modern transport infrastructure, logistics services, and advanced ICT systems, sectors identified by both governments as critical drivers of sustainable economic growth and regional connectivity.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of leveraging technology and efficient transport systems to facilitate trade, improve service delivery, and support broader economic integration between Rwanda and Oman.
As part of the growing partnership, Oman confirmed plans to launch direct air services linking Kigali and Muscat, a move expected to boost trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
The talks build on the long-standing and steadily expanding relationship between Rwanda and Oman, which continues to grow across various sectors including economic cooperation, investment, transport, and digital development, with a shared goal of advancing mutual interests and improving the livelihoods of citizens in both nations.
