Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Singapore, Innocent Bagamba Muhizi, has presented his letters of credence to Cindy Kiro, GNZM, QSO, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Realm of New Zealand officially accrediting him as Rwanda’s High Commissioner to New Zealand.


The ceremony took place on April 1, 2026, at Government House in Wellington, marking the beginning of his diplomatic mission in the country.

High Commissioner Muhizi, who has been based in Singapore since November 2025, highlighted the strong potential to further strengthen cooperation between the two nations, particularly in key sectors such as agriculture, renewable energy, environmental protection, and tourism.

Both Rwanda and New Zealand are members of the Commonwealth of Nations, a platform that continues to support the expansion of bilateral relations and shared development priorities.

New Zealand, home to about 5.3 million people, has a highly developed economy driven largely by agriculture and a thriving tourism sector that attracts over three million visitors annually. The country is also known for its high standards in healthcare, education, and overall quality of life.

The presentation of credentials reflects a shared commitment to deepening diplomatic, economic, and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
