Olivier Nduhungirehe on Friday held talks with Gao Wenqi as Rwanda and China continue to deepen their diplomatic and development partnership


The meeting focused on the strong and long-standing relationship between Rwanda and China, as well as ways to further strengthen cooperation in key sectors including trade, infrastructure, technology, education, and investment.

According to officials, both sides praised the growing partnership between the two countries, which was elevated to a higher level in 2024 following increased collaboration and high-level exchanges between Kigali and Beijing.

Rwanda and China have maintained close ties for many years, with China supporting several development projects across Rwanda, including road construction, health infrastructure, digital technology, and vocational training initiatives. The two nations have also continued to cooperate in areas of economic transformation, innovation and regional development. During the discussions, Minister Nduhungirehe and Ambassador Gao Wenqi reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations and promoting mutual interests for the benefit of both countries and their citizens.

The meeting reflects the continued momentum in Rwanda-China relations as both governments seek to expand strategic cooperation and explore new opportunities for partnership in the coming years
