President Kagame Bids Farewell to Outgoing U.S. Ambassador to Rwanda
President Paul Kagame on Tuesday received the outgoing United States Ambassador to Rwanda, Eric W. Kneedler, for a farewell meeting held at Village Urugwiro as the diplomat concluded his official duties in the country.
The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the long-standing cooperation between Rwanda and the United States across key sectors, including politics, economic development, security, and social progress. President Kagame expressed appreciation for Ambassador Kneedler’s contribution to strengthening bilateral relations during his tenure.
The Head of State commended the Ambassador for his commitment and close collaboration with Rwandan institutions, noting that relations between the two countries continue to be founded on mutual respect and shared interests.
Ambassador Kneedler, in turn, thanked the Government of Rwanda for the warm reception and constructive partnership he enjoyed throughout his stay. He expressed confidence that cooperation between Rwanda and the United States would continue to grow in the years ahead.
Eric W. Kneedler assumed his role as U.S. Ambassador to Rwanda in October 2023, succeeding Ambassador Peter H. Vrooman. He officially concludes his diplomatic mission after serving for more than two years.
