President Paul Kagame today received Guinea’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Morissanda Kouyaté, at Village Urugwiro, where he delivered a special message from President Mamadi Doumbouya.

During their meeting, Minister Kouyaté conveyed President Doumbouya’s message focused on strengthening the already growing cooperation between Rwanda and Guinea. The two leaders discussed ways to deepen bilateral ties in key sectors including trade, investment, education, technology, and diplomatic collaboration.

The discussions also reviewed progress made in implementing agreements signed in October 2024, covering tourism, agriculture, energy, export development, and industrial park promotion. These agreements reflect both countries’ shared vision of advancing economic transformation and broadening opportunities for their citizens.

Relations between Rwanda and Guinea have continued to expand over the years. Earlier this month, President Kagame visited Guinea and joined President Doumbouya at the opening of the Transform Africa Summit (TAS). In January 2024, President Doumbouya visited Rwanda, where he inaugurated Guinea’s Embassy in Kigali and held talks aimed at reinforcing cooperation in multiple development sectors.

Minister Kouyaté’s visit reaffirmed the commitment of both nations to building a solid partnership grounded in mutual benefit. Rwanda and Guinea reiterated their willingness to scale up joint initiatives in diplomacy, economic cooperation, and people-centered development.

The long-standing friendship between the two countries continues to grow, supported by high-level exchanges and collaborative projects aimed at delivering long-term impact for Rwandans and Guineans alike.
