Amb. Bizimana Presents Credentials in Mali, Reaffirms Rwanda–Mali Cooperation
Rwanda’s Ambassador-designate to Mali, Festus Bizimana, has taken a key step in formalizing diplomatic relations after presenting copies of his Letters of Credence to Abdoulaye Diop, Mali’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The presentation ceremony took place on May 1, 2026, marking the beginning of Ambassador Bizimana’s official diplomatic engagement in Mali.
During their meeting, the two officials held cordial and constructive discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation between Rwanda and Mali across a range of sectors of mutual interest. Their talks reflected a shared commitment to expanding partnerships that support development, stability, and regional collaboration.
They also exchanged views on the current situation in Mali and the broader region, as well as on continental and international issues. Both sides emphasized the importance of African solidarity and collective action in addressing shared challenges, particularly in areas related to peace, security, and economic growth.
Ambassador Bizimana’s engagement signals Rwanda’s continued efforts to deepen its diplomatic footprint across Africa, while reinforcing partnerships that contribute to sustainable development and cooperation among African nations.
