391 new DASSO recruits were formally deployed during a ceremony at the Rwanda National Police Training School in Gishari, Rwamagana District On August 14, 2025.

The cohort includes 135 women and 256 men, who will serve across six districts: Gasabo, Kicukiro, Nyarugenge, Nyagatare, Rusizi, and Rwamagana.

During the event, the Minister of Local Government, Habimana Dominique, thanked parents for supporting their children in joining DASSO. He emphasized that maintaining security is a vital and noble task that contributes to the country’s development.

The recruits were briefed on crimes and misconduct they are expected to help prevent, including alcohol abuse, theft, violence, drug use, sexual misconduct, school dropouts among children, domestic violence, and poor service delivery.

The minister stressed that tackling these issues requires collaboration between all government agencies and citizens to ensure that Rwandans live safely, happily, and prosperously.

Minister Habimana also highlighted the significant contributions DASSO has made in protecting people and property through ongoing cooperation with citizens and other security agencies. He noted that Rwandans now enjoy safer communities, and that DASSO will continue to play a key role in maintaining this peace.

Established under a 2013 law, DASSO recruits receive three months of training in partnership with the Rwanda National Police. Minister Habimana reminded the new recruits to work closely with other agencies to combat crimes that threaten the safety of Rwandans nationwide.
