President Museveni wishes Gen. Muhoozi a Happy 52nd Birthday
President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has expressed gratitude to God for blessing his family with children’s protection, guidance, and prosperity, and thanked the First Lady Janet Museveni for taking care of them, especially during 1981–86 when she was the only parent nearby.
He saluted his children for successfully completing school and building lives in different fields including family and career. He also appreciated Ugandans and Africans for standing with and supporting his family and political movement in various endeavours.
On 24th April 2026, he congratulated Gen. Muhoozi (Muogi) on his 52nd birthday, noting that he was born and raised in the resistance and has contributed to it, including efforts to fight corruption in the Army and strengthening the UPDF.
Museveni shared personal reflections about his children: Muhoozi (Muogi), Natasha (Kukuru), Patience (Pusi), and Kyaremeera (Kyinini), saying they were born on or near historically significant dates which he jokingly described as making them “earth-shakers.”
He recalled Muhoozi’s birth on 24th April 1974 at Ocean Road Hospital in Dar-es-Salaam, where a Dutch friend helped drive the First Lady to hospital. He later shared the joyful news with comrade Samora Machel, who was then focused on the Portuguese anti-fascist revolution.
He also mentioned Natasha (Kukuru), born on 12th March 1977 at Moshi Christian Centre Hospital, linking it to a later liberation mission in Kawumu, Luwero; Patience (Pusi), born on 9th May 1978 at Muhimbili Hospital on Victory Day in Europe; and Kyaremeera (Kyinini), born on 30th June 1980, the same date as Congo’s independence in 1960.
He concluded by congratulating Gen. Muhoozi, his wife, children, and siblings on the milestone, sharing these reflections as a family story intertwined with history, struggle, and destiny.
