More than 40 Indian Pilgrims Killed in Bus Crash Near Medina, Saudi Arabia
More than 40 Indian pilgrims have died in a tragic road accident in Saudi Arabia after their bus collided with an oil tanker near the holy city of Medina on Monday, Indian authorities confirmed.
The bus was carrying 46 passengers at the time of the crash. Officials say the impact was so severe that only one person survived, leaving families and authorities in deep shock.
Emergency services in Saudi Arabia responded swiftly, but the majority of victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs said it is closely coordinating with Saudi authorities to support the survivor and facilitate the identification and repatriation of the victims. Messages of condolence have poured in from across India, with leaders expressing deep sorrow over the devastating loss of life.
The passengers were reportedly on a pilgrimage journey when the accident occurred. An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
