On the sidelines of the Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa, Rwanda’s Ambassador to Senegal Festus Bizimana met with the Secretary-General of La Francophonie Louise Mushikiwabo during her visit to Senegal.


Their meeting coincided with Mushikiwabo’s participation in activities highlighting youth innovation, including the CAP Innovation initiative held in Dakar to mark the International Day of Creativity and Innovation.

The program aims to strengthen ties between the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie and young innovators across the Francophone space.

At the event, eight young finalists presented their projects, showcasing the dynamism and creativity of Francophone youth. The ceremony brought together representatives of OIF member states, entrepreneurs, and partners to celebrate innovation and emerging talent.

Participants commended Mushikiwabo’s leadership and the reforms she has driven, noting their contribution to strengthening the OIF’s influence. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of expanding initiatives like CAP Innovation to ensure greater, tangible impact on the ground.

The ceremony was also attended by Serigne Guèye Diop, alongside other stakeholders, reaffirming a shared commitment to supporting youth-driven innovation within the Francophone community.
