President Samia pledges major development projects as CCM campaigns intensify
On the third day of campaigns for Tanzania’s October General Election, President Samia Suluhu Hassan, the Presidential Candidate for Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), reaffirmed her party’s record of delivery and outlined ambitious commitments for the next term.
She reminded citizens of progress achieved in the past five years under CCM, pointing to improvements in health, education, water supply, infrastructure, and access to electricity. She promised to consolidate these gains by completing outstanding projects and expanding public services, particularly in healthcare, energy, and education.
Among her pledges are new health centres, dispensaries, hospitals, and schools to meet the needs of a growing population. She also committed to investing in livestock and agriculture infrastructure, expanding grazing land to resolve recurring conflicts, and promoting industrial growth as part of efforts to strengthen the national economy.
Looking ahead, President Samia outlined her first 100-day priorities if re-elected, which include:
- initiating a new constitution-making process,
- implementing the National Water Grid,
- rolling out universal health insurance,
- and covering treatment costs for cancer, kidney, and heart diseases for underprivileged citizens.
“The CCM government does not make empty promises. When we commit, we deliver,” she told supporters, urging every registered voter to turn out on October 29, 2025, and elect CCM at all levels of leadership.
Her remarks underscore CCM’s campaign theme of continuity, action, and inclusive development as the country heads toward a pivotal general election.
