37 Senior Military Officers from Africa and Asia Inspired After Visiting Rwanda’s Heroes Mausoleum
A group of 37 senior military officers from different countries across Africa and Asia has expressed deep satisfaction after visiting Rwanda’s Heroes Mausoleum, saying the experience gave them valuable lessons that will help them strengthen their duty of patriotism and commitment to safeguarding peace in their respective countries.
The officers are students at the Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College (RDF CSC), located in Nyakinama Sector, Musanze District. They visited the Heroes Mausoleum on Thursday, April 23, 2026, as part of their study tour in Rwanda.
During their visit, the officers learned about the history of Rwanda’s liberation struggle, particularly the campaign led by the former Rwandan Patriotic Army (RPA Inkotanyi), which played a key role in ending the genocide against the Tutsi and restoring national unity.
The visit to the Heroes Mausoleum—an important national site honoring Rwanda’s heroes—was part of their broader academic program aimed at understanding military history, leadership, and peacebuilding.
The officers said the experience was inspiring and would help them in their future military responsibilities, especially in promoting peace and protecting their nations.
