Rwanda’s Prime Minister Receives Cambodian Deputy PM, Strengthens Bilateral Cooperation
On the evening of 18 November 2025, Rwanda’s Prime Minister, Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva, received PRAK Sokhonn, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Cambodia, as part of a working visit aimed at deepening cooperation between the two countries.
During their discussions, both sides reaffirmed the longstanding cordial relations between Rwanda and Cambodia and expressed a strong commitment to expand collaboration particularly in the sectors of trade and investment, education, health, and international cooperation.
Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn commended Rwanda’s steady progress in development, noting that both nations stand to benefit from exchanging expertise and unlocking new investment opportunities.
A key highlight of the meeting was the upcoming 46th Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie (CMF46), which opens this Wednesday in Kigali. The two leaders underscored the significance of this gathering, describing it as an important platform for Rwanda to showcase its capacity to host major international events at a time when French-speaking nations seek to strengthen economic cooperation and promote peace and security.
Prime Minister Nsengiyumva praised Cambodia’s active role within the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), stating that CMF46 presents an opportunity to enhance collective advocacy and improve the impact of Francophone cooperation.
PRAK Sokhonn’s visit is seen as a continuation of the warm relations between Kigali and Phnom Penh, with expectations that it will further reinforce bilateral ties as both countries navigate emerging global challenges.
