President Paul Kagame on Sunday hosted President Faustin Archange Touadéra of the Central African Republic (CAR), who arrived in Rwanda for a two-day Working Visit aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation and reviewing ongoing partnerships between the two countries. The meeting, held in Kigali, highlighted the strong and growing relationship between Rwanda and CAR particularly in the areas of security, governance reforms, and institutional capacity-building.
Rwanda has played an important role in supporting stability in the Central African Republic, including the deployment of RDF troops under bilateral arrangements and through multilateral peacekeeping missions. According to officials, discussions between the two Heads of State focused on strengthening existing cooperation frameworks, enhancing security collaboration, and exploring new areas of partnership beneficial to both nations. The two leaders also reviewed progress made in peace-building and state-reform efforts in CAR, where Rwanda remains a key partner.
President Touadéra’s visit reflects the trust and strategic relationship Kigali and Bangui have built over the years, with Rwanda consistently positioning itself as a reliable ally in regional stability and institution-building. The visit is expected to include engagements with various Rwandan officials and institutions working closely with CAR on reform and development initiatives.
