President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni joined worshippers at Our Lady and St. Jude Parish, Nagulu, for the Feast of St. Jude Thaddeus, urging Ugandans to embrace love, unity, and faith as the essence of true Christian living.
Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has called on citizens to embrace love, unity, and faith as guiding principles of their daily lives. The Head of State made the remarks on Monday morning while joining the congregation at Our Lady and St. Jude Parish in Nagulu to celebrate the Feast of St. Jude Thaddeus.
In a message shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, President Museveni commended the Church for harmonizing modern values with Uganda’s traditional faith, emphasizing the importance of love as the foundation of the Ten Commandments.
“I commend the Church for integrating modern values into our traditional faith, especially the message of love that sums up the Ten Commandments,” the President stated.
He further urged Ugandans to see one another as creations of God, noting that disliking another person is equivalent to rejecting God’s image.
“If you do not like me, you are rejecting God because I am created in His image. But as for me, I love you all,” he said.
President Museveni concluded his message by extending his blessings and warm wishes to all Christians observing the Feast of St. Jude Thaddeus, a saint often associated with hope and perseverance in difficult situations.
The Feast of St. Jude Thaddeus, celebrated annually on October 28, holds special significance for the Catholic faithful as a time of reflection on faith, resilience, and divine love.
