President Kagame Receives United Arab Emirates Media Leader to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation
On Tuesday afternoon at Village Urugwiro, President Paul Kagame received Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the United Arab Emirates National Media Office (NMO) and of the United Arab Emirates Media Council (UAEMC), who was accompanied by his delegation.
Their discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Rwanda and the United Arab Emirates in the field of media, highlighting the role of media in advancing bilateral relations and enhancing collaboration across multiple sectors.
Earlier in the day, Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed held talks with senior government officials, including Gen. (Rtd) James Kabarebe, Minister of State in charge of Regional Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Both sides underscored the importance of media as a tool to foster strong relations, promote mutual interests, and contribute to regional and international development.
Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed noted that his visit to Rwanda aligns with the vision of United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is committed to expanding partnerships with countries worldwide, particularly in Africa.
“This comes from our country’s belief in the value of international cooperation and its role in fostering security and development,” he emphasized.
Rwanda and the United Arab Emirates have steadily strengthened ties in sectors such as trade, investment, and culture. The current visit is expected to open new opportunities for collaboration in media and other emerging areas that drive shared progress.
