President Kagame Meets WHO and Gavi Leaders to Advance Rwanda’s Health Systems
President Paul Kagame, this afternoon at Urugwiro Village, received Dr Sania Nishtar, Chief Executive Officer of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and her delegation for high-level discussions on advancing Rwanda’s health priorities.
Their discussions focused on ongoing cooperation aimed at strengthening immunization systems, improving public health outcomes, and expanding equitable access to life-saving vaccines.
Rwanda has been recognized as one of the countries making significant progress in vaccine coverage, and the meeting underscored the importance of sustaining these gains through strong partnerships.
President Kagame also met with Prof Mohamed Yakub Janabi, Regional Director for Africa at the World Health Organization, alongside Dr Brian Chirombo.
Their discussions centered on strengthening collaboration to advance health security and build resilient health systems capable of responding to current and future challenges, both in Rwanda and across the African region.
The engagements highlight Rwanda’s continued commitment to improving healthcare delivery and working closely with international partners to ensure sustainable, inclusive, and high-quality health services for its population.
