Rwandan President Paul Kagame has congratulated Mamadi Doumbouya on his election as President of the Republic of Guinea, wishing him success and prosperity as he begins his mandate.

In a message shared on social media platform X, President Kagame expressed his satisfaction with Doumbouya’s victory, referring to him as a “brother” and reaffirming Rwanda’s commitment to strengthening the existing friendly relations between the two countries.

“I congratulate my brother, President Mamadi Doumbouya, on his election as President of the Republic of Guinea. I look forward to further strengthening our strong bilateral relations and working closely together to advance our shared goals and the prosperity of our people,” President Kagame said.

The message highlights the willingness of both Rwanda and Guinea to deepen cooperation in various sectors, including politics, economic development, and regional stability, with the aim of promoting peace and sustainable development.

Mamadi Doumbouya was recently confirmed as Guinea’s president after the Supreme Court validated the results of the December 28, 2025 presidential election, in which he secured more than 86 percent of the vote. His election has been widely welcomed by several African leaders, who have expressed confidence in his ability to promote stability, good governance, and development in Guinea.
