RDB warns against scammers using ‘Visit Rwanda’ brand
The Rwanda Development Board (RDB) has warned the public against individuals fraudulently using the ‘Visit Rwanda’ brand to carry out scam activities and extort money from unsuspecting people.
In a statement shared on X on the evening of January 27, 2026, RDB said the individuals are impersonating the institution through promotional and marketing activities related to Visit Rwanda, with the aim of advancing personal interests and illegally obtaining money.
RDB clarified that it does not charge for services or provide official information through private individuals, intermediaries, or unauthorized companies.
It emphasized that all official communications, promotions, and services are conducted exclusively through RDB’s verified channels and official social media platforms, and that any service fees are paid only through officially approved procedures.
The institution urged the public to remain vigilant, carefully verify the authenticity of individuals or entities claiming to represent RDB, and to report any suspected fraudulent activities through RDB’s official communication channels.
