President Paul Kagame has arrived in Doha, the capital of Qatar, where he will take part in the World Summit for Social Development scheduled to take place from November 4 to 6, 2025.

Upon arrival at Hamad International Airport on Monday, President Kagame was received by Yousif Fakhro, Director of Protocol at Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, alongside Rwanda’s Ambassador to Qatar, Igor Marara Kayinamura.

The World Summit for Social Development whose venue was designated by a resolution of the United Nations General Assembly seeks to evaluate and advance the commitments made under the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development.

The meeting will focus on addressing persistent gaps in implementing global goals aimed at improving the welfare and equality of all people.

In an era defined by widening inequality, rapid technological transformation, and the escalating impact of climate change, this second Global Summit on Social Development provides a critical platform for world leaders to share solutions and renew their commitment to inclusive progress.

Heads of state, government representatives, and international organizations are expected to attend the three-day meeting to deliberate on practical strategies for achieving equitable and sustainable social advancement worldwide.
