Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), the main gauge of inflation, rose by 7.1 percent year-on-year in October 2025, down from 7.3 percent recorded in September 2025, according to the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR).
The National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda published the report on November 10, 2025. The data show that inflation was mainly driven by increases in prices of alcoholic beverages, housing, energy, and restaurant services, despite a slower rise in food prices.

Prices for Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels increased by 7.5 percent annually and 4.1 percent monthly. The Health category recorded a notable rise of 71.3 percent compared to October 2024, though only 0.1 percent on a monthly basis.
In transport, prices rose 8.5 percent year-on-year, remaining stable compared to the previous month. Restaurants and hotels saw a 19.1 percent increase from the same month last year and 1.2 percent from September.
The report also shows that prices of locally produced goods went up by 6.4 percent year-on-year and 1.7 percent month-on-month, while imported products increased by 9.1 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively.
Prices of fresh products increased slightly by 0.4 percent on an annual basis and 1.6 percent monthly, while energy prices rose 10.9 percent year-on-year and 6.5 percent from the previous month.
