President Touadéra Commends Rwanda’s Role as CAR Moves Toward Crucial Elections
Central African Republic President Faustin-Archange Touadéra has expressed gratitude to President Paul Kagame for Rwanda’s sustained support and investment in his country, saying the partnership continues to reinforce stability and deepen cooperation between Bangui and Kigali.
Touadéra arrived in Kigali for a working visit before holding a meeting with President Kagame at Village Urugwiro, where the two leaders discussed security preparations ahead of the December 28, 2025 elections in the Central African Republic. The talks also addressed peace-support operations, institutional strengthening, and the shared interest in promoting regional stability.
In a message posted on X after the meeting, Touadéra praised Rwanda for standing with CAR during a critical phase and highlighted the impact of growing Rwandan investments on economic recovery and national resilience.
Rwanda remains one of CAR’s closest and most reliable partners, having contributed to security operations, protection of key installations, and support to state authority in a country emerging from years of political instability and violence.
The visit and discussions underscored the continued rise of Rwanda–CAR relations, marked by mutual commitment to peace, cooperation, and long-term development across security, governance, and economic sectors.
