President William Ruto has received the iconic English Premier League Trophy at State House, Nairobi, as Kenyan fans celebrate its return. The silverware will be on public display in Nairobi on October 25–26, hosted by Guinness at Bar Next Door, Kiambu Road.

The gleaming silverware one of the most recognized trophies in global sport arrived in the capital to great excitement, giving Kenyans a rare opportunity to get up close with football’s ultimate prize.
Dressed in a Kenya-branded jacket adorned with national colours, President Ruto smiled as he posed beside the trophy, an image that quickly captivated football enthusiasts nationwide.
The trophy last visited Kenya on September 3, 2023. Its return this year forms part of a special tour that allows fans to celebrate their love for the Premier League. Guinness, the official beer partner of the EPL, will host the trophy on Saturday, October 25, and Sunday, October 26, at Bar Next Door along Kiambu Road in Nairobi.
The Premier League Trophy, designed and handcrafted by Asprey London renowned luxury silversmiths embodies both elegance and heritage. Made from solid sterling silver with a 24-carat silver gilt crown, it stands 104 centimeters tall and weighs about 25 kilograms. Its malachite plinth, a green semi-precious stone, symbolizes the lush football pitches where dreams are realized.
At the front sits the Premier League’s crowned lion emblem, flanked by two smaller lions on the handles. When a team captain raises the trophy, he becomes the “third lion ”a powerful symbol of leadership, victory, and unity.
Though valued between £8,000 and £10,000 in material terms, its true worth lies far beyond its silver and stone. It represents glory, perseverance, teamwork, and the emotional highs and lows that define English football.
