Ambassador Bizimana Presents Credentials to President José Maria Neves

Rwanda’s Ambassador to Senegal, Festus Bizimana, had the honor of meeting His Excellency José Maria Neves, President of Cape Verde, at the presidential palace in Mindelo for the formal presentation of credentials.


During the meeting, President Neves warmly welcomed the deepening of bilateral relations between Cape Verde and Rwanda.

He expressed admiration for Rwanda’s reform trajectory and its leadership role within the African Union, highlighting the country as a model of progress on the continent.

Both sides discussed ways to expand cooperation in key sectors including tourism, digitalization, innovation, and air connectivity. To ensure sustainable collaboration, President Neves expressed support for the establishment of a permanent joint commission (PJC), which will serve as a structured framework to advance bilateral initiatives.

Ambassador Bizimana thanked the President for the warm reception and reiterated Rwanda’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships across Africa, fostering innovation, and promoting mutual development.

The meeting marks a significant step toward enhanced cooperation between the two nations, setting the stage for tangible projects that will benefit both Rwanda and Cape Verde.
