Rwanda, IID Sign MoU to Strengthen Diplomatic Training and Capacity Building
The Government of Rwanda, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Institute for Diplomacy (IID).
A Switzerland-based institution, to enhance diplomatic training and strengthen professional capacity building across Rwanda’s foreign service.
The agreement was signed by Ambassador Urujeni Bakuramutsa, Rwanda’s Permanent Representative in Geneva, together with IID President Pablo Demierre and Vice President Vincent Subilia.
This partnership establishes a framework for cooperation in diplomatic training, foreign policy education, and the exchange of academic and professional expertise. It will allow Rwandan diplomats to benefit from specialized programmes in diplomatic practice, negotiation, international public law, communications, economic diplomacy, conflict management, public speaking, and multilateral diplomacy.
The cooperation aligns with Rwanda’s ongoing efforts to build a highly professional, effective and globally competitive diplomatic corps, capable of navigating increasingly complex international and multilateral engagements.
