Amb. Marie Claire Mukasine presents her credentials to the King of Thailand, pledging to represent Rwanda
Rwanda’s Ambassador, Marie Claire Mukasine, officially presented her letters of credence to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua (Rama X) of Thailand, authorizing her to represent the Republic of Rwanda in the Kingdom of Thailand.
The ceremony took place on July 20, 2025, in the Thai capital, Bangkok. During the event, Ambassador Mukasine also conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of Rwanda, H.E. Paul Kagame.
Ambassador Mukasine currently serves as Rwanda’s envoy to Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand, operating from her main office in Tokyo.
King Vajiralongkorn ascended to the throne on October 13, 2016, following the passing of his father, King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Although his reign officially began that day, he requested a period of mourning before formally accepting the throne. He was officially crowned on December 1, 2019, becoming the oldest person to ascend the Thai throne at age 64.
He is the only son of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit, and was named Crown Prince in 1972 at the age of 20.
The presentation of credentials marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties between Rwanda and Thailand, especially in areas of diplomacy, cooperation, and trade.
